Following an upsurge in the price for fuel in the international market, Stating Trading Organization (STO) has increased its diesel and petrol prices.
The reveal was made via a Twitter post on Sunday.
STO revealed that the price hike follows an increase in prices in the international market and that the price revision is effective from Sunday onwards.
The price changes will be followed at all shed of the Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM).
The price of a liter of diesel has been increased by 75 laari. A liter of diesel previously priced at MVR 9.97 now costs MVR 10.72.
In addition, an 89-laari hike in petrol prices was also implemented, with a liter of petrol, earlier priced at MVR 8.85 is now available for MVR 9.74.
The last revision to petrol and diesel prices was brought on 16 March.
