Ministry of Health has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Finance and State Trading Organization (STO), to bring 96 ambulances to be sent to outlying islands.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Health Ministry by Minister of Health, Ahmed Naseem, Finance Ministry by Minister of Finance, Ibrahim Ameer, and STO’s Managing Director Hussain Amru at a reception held on Thursday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Health Minister Naseem said the 96 ambulances will help expand ambulance services in the islands, in turn strengthening health services and ending some of the major issues faced by the residents.
Noting that ambulances must be available in all residential islands, Naseem added that some of the issues include damage to vehicles.
Under the agreement, STO has to deliver the 96 ambulances within 180 days.
