Football player Ibrahim Rizwan has been found dead inside a house in capital city Malé on Sunday morning.
The 33-year-old man was found dead inside a house in Mahchangoalhi-ward of the capital.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) received reports of a dead body being transferred to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in an ambulance, on Sunday morning.
He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, said police.
Police have since launched investigations into his death.
Rizwan played for TC Sports Club and was last active in the previous football season, having played for Valencia.
He also played for Victory and All Youth Linkage.
With his sudden death, the football community has been grieving and sharing the memories through which he will be remembered, via social media.
