A number of Maldivian pilgrims currently at Hajj in Mecca of Saudia Arabia have been stranded on the Arafat plain, their families have reported.

RaajjeMV understands that those who were stranded on the Arafat plain all belong to one operator, the state-run Maldives Hajj Corporation.

The pilgrims had missed the bus they were supposed to take at sunset on Friday, thus deciding to continue off of Mount Arafat on foot. Pilgrims had become separated and stranded during this journey on foot, their families said.

There were about fifty pilgrims stranded on the Arafat plain, who had reported not receiving the aid of Saudi guards there.

The Maldives Hajj Corporation, which is carrying the most number of pilgrims to Hajj this year, had not responded to call for a comment at the time of publishing.
