Former president Nasheed was discharged from ADK Hospital on Thursday, one week after an assassination attempt against his person in Male' City. The explosion had left Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed in need of multiple surgeries, and it is believed he will be seeking further medical care from aboard.
Maldives' first democratically elected president Mohamed Nasheed was seen leaving the Maldives' capital via bridge to Velana International Airport earlier on Thursday, with a full security motorcade detail.
It is unclear when President Nasheed will return to Maldives, but the team at Raajje MV wishes him a swift and full recovery on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.

He had 10 pieces of razor wedged inside his body and shrapnel removed. Doctors said that the extent of his trauma was not in the norm, and it is believed Speaker Nasheed will be receiving further medical care to speed up his recovery while abroad.

All three suspects in attempt on former president Nasheed's life have been arrested: Police
The Maldives Police Service on Tuesday stated that they had arrested all the suspects required to proceed with investigations in the attack on former president Mohamed Nasheed.
However, Police revealed that they had identified other persons of interest, and that investigations in the case was still ongoing. Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohamed Riyaz stated that they would be sharing information with the media and public as the investigations progressed, and that authorities were working to find out how Adhuham had learned of Speaker Nasheed's schedule on the night of the explosion.

Officers had received reports of a suspicious object, but no immediate threats or dangers had been identified at the location.

Armed officers of the Maldives National Defense Force have conducted a search and seizure operation at Bihuroazu Mosque.
Parts of Rahdhebai Magu of Male' City were closed off as MNDF kicked of their operation at 12am. Armed officers were seen searching some parts of the neighborhood, with no civilians permitted to enter or exit the perimeter.
In detailing the operation, MNDF revealed that the operation was being conducted following reports of a suspicious object inside the mosque, and that they had not found such an object after clearing the site.

Nasheed's attackers will be brought to justice: President Solih
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has guaranteed that those responsible for the terrorist attack which targeted former president and Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed will be brought to face justice.
The President made the assertion at the 173rd National Council Meeting of main-ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) on Sunday night. President Solih stated that he had spoken with former president Nasheed on Sunday afternoon, and that he had been assured of Speaker Nasheed's will and determination through their meeting.
President Solih went on to firmly assert that those that had targeted former president Mohamed Nasheed would be brought to face justice.
In addition to this, President Solih stated that the Prosecutor General's Office had been giving their full support for the investigation, and that a special team had been created to battle the case at court. President Solih confirmed that PG Hussain Shameem would be representing the state against Speaker Nasheed's attackers in court. President Solih added that foreign experts with the UNODC and the United Kingdom were already assisting Maldives' investigation into the attack on Speaker Nasheed.
Further, President Solih declared that acts of terror were deliberately designed to disrupt the nation's peace, and stated that MDP and his government would stand firmly against any such malicious actors. He added that MDP had always sought justice, and that the party would work towards establishing peace across the country, while respecting the right to life of all people.

Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem has revealed that he will be representing the state in court against those that attempted to assassinate former president Mohamed Nasheed.
PG Shameem confirmed this on Sunday evening, stating that he felt he should do so as the case is extremely sensitive.
While PG Shameem has been seen in court for a few cases in the past, the common practice is that lawyers from the Prosecutor General's Office represent the state in court. In 2008, PG Shameem had secured a conviction in court against a man that had attempted to stab former president Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom, with the attacker having received a 13-year prison sentence.
Three people have been charged with terrorism following an attempt to assassinate former president and Speaker of Parliament on Thursday. All three were remanded for 15 days, and have denied the charges raised against them. However, PG Shameem had earlier stated that he believed there was enough evidence against them to secure a conviction.

Adhuham Ahmed Rasheed, Hiyaa, from Thinadhoo island of Vaavu atoll, Mujaz Ahmed, MA. Feyruge, K. Male' and Thahumeen Ahmed Folheymaa, GA. Kondey, plead not guilty to charges of terrorism.
Thahumeen Ahmed had also denied being the owner of the motorbike to which the explosive to target Speaker Nasheed had been attached. However, records submitted to court by the Maldives Police Service state Thahumeen Ahmed as the registered owner of the motorbike.
Judge Adam Mohamed had concluded that there was enough evidence to convict the three suspects in this case, as all three of them had prior criminal records. The three suspects have been remanded by 15 days as the investigation into the assassination attempt against former president Mohamed Nasheed is currently ongoing.

Adhuham had been spotted by cameras waiting near Athama Palace on Majeedhee Magu, just a few paces away from where an explosion had targeted former president Mohamed Nasheed. Police had been able to lift his foot-print from a wall, and he had been tracked by CCTV cameras through Male' City alongside 21-year-old Mujaz Ahmed, who had been arrested as a suspect in this case on Saturday.

After 16 hours of surgery, former president and Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed had been moved to the Critical Care Unit in ADK Hospital.
President Nasheed had been put on a ventilator in the CCU and had remained unconscious until his vitas stabilized. Nasheed had been taken off the ventilator on Saturday morning as he had been observed to be breathing well.
Doctors from ADK Hospital have revealed that former president Mohamed Nasheed is now in stable condition. While major concerns have been attended to, doctors revealed that Nasheed would have a long road to recovery ahead.
Doctors revealed that they would be monitoring the former president closely as he was at a great risk of infection after having sustained internal injuries.
A piece of metal had been lodged in the skin of President Nasheed's scalp
Doctors confirm that while the CT scan had showed shrapnel lodged in former president Nasheed's skull, the metal had been stuck in the skin of his scalp, and had not reached his skull or brain.

As the emergency trauma experienced by Speaker Nasheed was not the norm even for trained doctors, an experienced cardiologist from Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital was also part of the team of doctors that attended to the president.
A special CT Scan taken to locate shrapnel from stomach
Doctors had been unable to locate a piece of shrapnel in Speaker Nasheed's stomach, which was eventually found around his liver.
An echo was done to exactly locate the loose piece of shrapnel.
Shrapnel lodged in Speaker Nasheed's limbs
Doctors had worked to clear metal shards and shrapnel from Nasheed's limbs after his gut surgery, following which he was taken in for another CT.
There had been pieces of metal in Nasheed's left elbow, his thigh, and his knee-cap. Aside from the metal pieces, plastic and other foreign objects had also been discovered lodged in Speaker Nasheed's body,
Most of the shrapnel had come from Nasheed's left. There had been no exit wounds on his thigh from the shrapnel, but they had been found lodged in bone around his knee and elbow.

Razor dust found in former president Nasheed's gut, liver
After Speaker Nasheed's bleeding had been controlled and his lung injury attended to, doctors began treating his stomach and abdominal area. The Speaker had three pieces of metal lodged in his gut, which were large enough to show up in a CT Scan.
Former President Nasheed had been found to have a perforated stomach, with 600 to 700ml of blood accumulated inside his stomach.
Doctors revealed that Nasheed's stomach had been perforated in four places, and that he had also experienced similar liver trauma. A razor piece had been scanned and removed from his liver, doctors confirm.
"Metal shard had been positioned around 1cm from President Nasheed's heart"
The team of doctors from ADK revealed that the piece of metal lodged near Speaker Nasheed's lung had been positioned around 1cm away from his heart. Doctors had discovered an exit wound, where the shrapnel had crashed through Speaker Nasheed's ribs and been dislodged from the other side.
In addition to this, former president Mohamed Nasheed had sustained at least seven more injuries around his chest area, but doctors revealed that there was no danger to his life because of them.

ADK Hospital added that after Speaker Nasheed's immediate wounds had been attended to, he had been given a CT Scan.
A full body screening of President Nasheed's person revealed that aside from external wounds, a number of small metal pieces had been lodged in his body,
Priority had been given to remove a piece of metal which had been lodged in Nasheed's lung.
Pieces of plastic were also seen to have been lodged in the Speaker's body.

He was bleeding heavily due to which he was rushed to the operation theater immediately. His airway was cleaned and he was put on incubator in preparation for surgery.
