Maldives with Rohingya
RaajjeTV is holding a 24-hour telethon- from 2:30 pm Sunday to 2:30 pm Monday- with the purpose of helping the Rohingya Muslims, who have long been facing persecution in Myanmar.
The plight of the Rohingya Muslims is one very close to the hearts of Maldivians, and RaajjeTV said that it wanted to use the platform it had, to give the people the opportunity to help them in some way.
MHPA, the first 100% Maldivian owned and operated professional audit firm, is the telethon's auditor. The station said that the reason for appointing an independent auditor to handle the financial records is so that the they can share their expertise, and help make the event successful.
Maldives Red Crescent will assist in handing over the donations to the Rohingya Muslims.
