The government has reopened the bid opportunity to develop a tourist establishment in Manadhoo island of Noonu atoll.

In an announcement on Sunday, the Ministry of Tourism revealed that the opportunity was reopened following a lack of responsive bidders for an announcement publicized in February.

The ministry has invited eligible investors both local and foreign, to forward their bid submissions to lease, develop, operate and manage a tourist hotel in Manadhoo island.

Proposals are to be submitted by 10am, April 8.

The plot of land issued for the project measures 132,000 square feet and the ministry is scheduled to hold a virtual information session via ZOOM for interested parties to take part in.

The virtual information session will be held at 1pm, March 29 and interested individuals my forward an email with their names, email addresses and phone numbers attached, to[email protected]by 2pm, March 28.

Further, interested parties may obtain the application forms to purchase the bid documents, through the ministry’s official website from March 22 to April 6 during working hours, or through the ministry’s front desk during working days.

For further information and inquiries regarding the bidding process, individuals have been urged to contact the ministry through email for which the deadline has been set at 1pm, April 5.

On Tuesday the ministry had signed a similar lease agreement with FEDO Private Limited to develop a 100-room hotel in the beach of Kelaa island in Haa Alif atoll.

Maldives has a 13-hotel capacity out of which 11 hotels are currently operational across the archipelago nation.
