Stating Trading Organization (STO) has increased its diesel and petrol prices following an upsurge in the international market.
A tweet posted by the company states that the price hike follows an increase in prices in the international market and that the price revision is effective from Tuesday onward. The price for diesel and petrol increased twofold in comparison to the prices set four months back, STO revealed.
The price change will be effective at Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) sheds.
The price of a liter of diesel has been increased by 60 laari. As such, a liter of diesel now costs MVR 9.79.
Further, a 41-laari hike in petrol prices was also introduced, with a liter of petrol now being priced at MVR 8.85.
The last revision to petrol and diesel prices was brought during mid-February.
