TC came up from behind not long after, with foreign forward Malcolm Cornelius taking a shot, but failing to score. Two minutes later Maziya won a penalty shot by foreign forward Cornelius Stewart, securing the lead in the game.

The rest of the first half saw Maziya bagging opportunities to widen the gap with Umair and Cornelius going on the offensive, which was blocked by the TC goalkeeper.

Both teams showed equally good performance for the second half of the match, with Maziya forward Ibrahim Mahudhee having had an excellent opportunity to widen the lead at the 63rd minute. However, he missed the shot.
