The China-aid Renovation Project of the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office Building has been completed.
The newly developed building of the foreign ministry, was handed over to the government on Thursday.
During a ceremony held at the ministry, Chinese Ambassador Zhang Lizhong handed the keys of the renovated building, over to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel.
In a Twitter post shortly after, the Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid, expressed “deep” appreciation to the Chinese government and the Shanghai Construction Group which was tasked with the development project, for the timely completion of the renovation project.
The minister highlighted that the ties and friendship between Maldives and China, remains vibrant and strong.
