An employee at the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) has tested positive for the coronavirus.

PGO revealed that an administrative staff tested positive for the virus which consecutively resulted in the cancellation of a hearing scheduled for Wednesday. The hearing for former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb, scheduled to be held on Wednesday, was cancelled.

This was done in order to carry out disinfection programmes at the building.

PGO has since decided to implement safety and precautionary measures due to the discovery of the Covid-19 case.

All of the authority’s work is to be carried out by employees at home, said PGO.

The office is currently preparing to put the required safety measures in place and share the required information regarding employees who had come into contact with the administrative employee who tested positive, with the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

The PGO decided to allow employees who worked at the office this week, to work from home starting July 12. Similarly, employees who worked from home between July 5 – 9 will be required to report to work at office from July 12.
