An additional 33 cases of the global Covid-19 pandemic have been reported in the Maldives.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) revealed that the new cases include 12 Maldivians, 18 Bangladeshi nationals and three Indians.

This has pushed the country's total case count to 2,468.

Maldives currently has 403 active cases of the infection and 19 recoveries were also reported on Sunday. Recoveries are currently at 2,049.

Further, there are 281 individuals in isolation while 108 remain in quarantine.

So far, the virus has taken 12 lives in the island nation.
