The government of Maldives has publicized hours for deliveries and business operations for local shops and restaurants as well as cafés, during thefirst phase of the lockdown ease plan.
The Ministry of Economic Development revealed that the publication is applicable for businesses that have the valid permit, issued through the Maldives Police Service (MPS), to operate throughout the lockdown easing process being implemented in phases.
This is being done at a time a nationwide State of Public Health Emergency is also in effect under the Public Health Protection Act.
As such, the announcement was made by the ministry reads that the permitted business hours effective from Monday are as follows:
- Shops open for services – 9am to 9pm
- Delivery service providers – 9am to 11pm
- Delivery service for teashops, cafés, restaurants – 9am to 11pm
All businesses permitted to operate in the Greater Malé Region have been ordered to follow this protocol until further notice.
Authorities began the lockdown ease plan on Friday and it is currently in Phase One, with a number of restrictions are still in place.
