President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent greetings to nurses across the country.
May 12 marks the first international Nurses Day since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
The president, via Twitter, highlighted that this year’s Nurses Day “reminds us how noble a calling nursing is as nurses around the world selflessly care for those with Covid-19”.
He also thanked Maldivian nurses across the country, as they “courageously contribute to global efforts to nurse the world back to health”.
Nurses Day is observed to mark the contributions that nurses make to society. It is the anniversary of the both of Florence Nightingale; the founder of modern nursing.
