All patients stricken with the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in the Maldives are in stable condition.
While there are currently nine patients of the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic being treated in the Maldives, Dr. Nazla Rafeeq made the reveal on Friday evening during a routinely press conference to brief the public on the recent developments in the country.
As such, Dr. Nazla revealed that all nine patients are being treated at Farukolhufushi and are in stable condition.
All of these are Maldivian patients and eight of them tested positive from capital city Malé within the past three days. As such, three clusters of the fatal infection have been documented, as the first ever community spread in the country.
As of Friday, there are 28 confirmed cases in the country since the discovery of the first two cases in Kuredu Island Resort on 7 March.
While the most number of cases reported thus far have been on Friday, where five cases have been confirmed, authorities have identified 305 contacts of three of the positive patients. Contact tracing for all the cluster cases are ongoing at a swift speed.
