ADK Hospital has temporarily suspended their Out Reach Service.

The announcement was made via a Twitter post on Wednesday evening, which reads that home consultation, home sample collection and ADK@home services have been temporarily suspended until further notice.

However, online consultations have been made available as before.

ADK further revealed that specialist and super specialist services will be available even during the lockdown period, which was declared on Wednesday after the first community-transmitted case emerged from a local in Malé City.

The hospital urged those who wish to make appointments to contact 1440 for queries and further information.

As a precautionary measure against the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, hospital visitations have also been halted to ensure the safety of everyone, including patients.

The hospital earlier revealed that only one individual will be allowed to stay with the patient and individuals can only enter through the emergency entrance, after acquiring the required permit to enter.

Further, those with flu symptoms such as coughing and fever will be sent to the flu clinic immediately.

The hospital established an online flu clinic since the emergence of the first case on 7 March, and thus far, a total of 902 individuals have consulted at the online flu clinic.

A total of 23 individuals have tested positive to the disease in the Maldives thus far, out of which 16 patients have recovered.
