Transport arranged for special permit holders amid lockdown

A 24-hour lockdown was declared across the Greater Malé Region on Wednesday

Transportation has been facilitated for individuals who hold National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) permit in the Greater Malé Region.

This was revealed by the Malé City Council via Twitter late Wednesday.

The tweet reads that bus and ferry services have been made available for special permit holders only.

As such, bus services between Hulhumalé and Malé will begin at 06:45am from the suburbs. The bus will leave from Malé at 08:30am and the services will be closed until afternoon after the last bus leaves from Hulhumalé to Malé at 9am.

After this, the bus service will begin from Hulhumalé to Malé at 02:30pm, the bus will return to Hulhumalé at 04:30 after which the service will be halted until night.

The bus will set off from the capital at 10pm and leave Hulhumalé at 10:30pm. Bus service will end with the last bus scheduled to depart at 00:30 from the capital to its suburb.

Further, ferry services between the capital and Vilimalé are scheduled between 7am and 9am as well as 3pm and 11pm.

The ferry service will begin from Vilimalé at 7am followed by a ferry from Malé to Vilimalé at 08:30am. The last ferry will be from Vilimalé to the capital at 9am.

Ferry will resume at 3pm from Vilimalé and it will depart Malé at 04:30pm after which services will be halted for the afternoon.

The tweet goes on to reveal that ferry services will also be provided from 10pm to 12:30am.
