The Travel Trade Maldives Fair (TTM) 2020 will be held during September, Orca Media Group has announced.
As such, the group revealed that the fair will be held from 12 – 14 September this year. It was initially scheduled to be held during the ongoing month of April, however, it was postponed due to growing fears of the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic that is sweeping across the globe at an alarming rate.
The organizer of the event has postponed the event upon the recommendations from industry professionals.
TTM, the largest international fair held in the Maldives is set to feature over 100 tourist resorts and hotels alongside 200 leading tour operators from 30 different countries across the globe.
Exhibitors will get access to the invite-only TTM Travel Summit and observe the launching of the TTM magazine, publicized and freely distributed at the event each year.
Registered exhibitors will also get invited to the closing “Gala Event” of the fair.
The largest travel fair in the Maldives, TTM was launched during 2017 by Orca Media Group and aims to facilitate the tourism industry to reach the ultimate target of two million tourist arrivals each year with over USD 3.5 billion as revenue by the end of 2020. This is the fourth edition of the fair.
Maldives confirmed its first two cases of Covid-19 during March and has reached 19 cases thus far. Since the surfacing of the cases, mostly in foreigners, Maldives has stopped issuing on-arrival visas to all inbound tourists, alongside several other measures that have been striking the tourism industry of the small island nation, hard.
