Covid-19: Sunfront brings changes to opening hours of stores
Changes were brought in accordance with the curfew and measures imposed by the HPA
Customers may reach their hotline numbers from 8pm to 11pm for services
Stores will be open for service from 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 04:30pm

Local furniture retailer Sunfront has brought changes to the opening hours of their stores.

In a public statement, Sunfront revealed that this was done as a measure to assist the authorities’ efforts to curb the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in the Maldives.

As such, the changes were brought in accordance with the Health Protection Agency (HPA)’s orders announcing a curfew to take effect from Thursday onwards.

This, the company said will enforce customers and Sunfront employees to remain indoors for the benefit of the society.

Sunfront stores will be closed for deliveries from 04:30pm onwards, and they will be open for service from 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 04:30pm starting Thursday.

Customers may also reach their hotline numbers from 8pm to 11pm for services, said the company.

Said timings will be in effect until further notice from the government or HPA regarding the curfew.

The curfew imposed by the Director General of Public Health, Maimoona Aboobakur on Wednesday, bans public transportation services and gathering of more than three individuals at all times. It also imposed measures on local cafés, restaurants and shops. As such, all shops are to be closed from 11pm to 6am, while delivery and takeaways from restaurants are banned from 12pm to 6am as well. Further, construction work is also to be halted between 5pm to 6am under the new protocols. The three-hour curfew period begins from 5pm to 8pm every day starting Thursday.
