Covid-19: eight remaining patients in "stable condition"
Five patients recovered from the disease in the past couple of days
The recovered patients are undergoing a 30-day isolation period
No positive cases have emerged since 15 March

The remaining eight positive patients in the Maldives are in stable condition, authorities have revealed.

Speaking to press on Tuesday afternoon, Covid-19 spokesperson Mabrook Aziz revealed that all eight; six Italian nationals and one each from the United Kingdom and Germany are undergoing treatment and are in stable condition.

Earlier, three Italian patients and one each from Turkey and South Africa recovered from the fatal infection. The first two recoveries were reported on Friday, followed by one more on Saturday and two more on Monday.

All recovered patients are required to undergo an isolation period of 30-days to make sure they do not test positive once more, and that they are not carriers of the virus.

As of Tuesday, there have been 13 confirmed cases in the Maldives; five from Kuredu Island Resort and two each from Sandies Bathala, Kuramathi, Anantara Dhigu and Island Safari one. Out of these, seven patients are women and six are men, these include nine patients from Italy and one patient each from Turkey, United Kingdom, Germany and South Africa.

Further, the spokesperson disclosed statistics from the various flu clinics established in the Greater Malé region.

Mabrook added that a Flu Clinic has been established in Kulhudhuffushi City as well. The clinic, established near the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital will be open for services from 9am to 12pm and 01pm to 04pm, said the spokesperson.

Within the past 24 hours, the call center established specifically for Covid-19 purposes, received a total of 988 phone calls, with 13,920 calls having been received up to date since January.

Other updates include individuals quarantined at Hulhulé Island Hotel being moved to quarantine facilities in other islands as the facility is to be used for isolation purposes henceforth.

In addition, Mabrook revealed that more samples are being taken in the case where Maldivians came in contact with former Manchester United player, Marouane Fellaini who tested positive to Covid-19 after his four-day vacation in Maldives.

As such, Mabrook revealed that Fellaini had arrived in the Maldives on 8 March and left on 12 March, he is to have arrived via Middle-Eastern Dubai. Prior to that, he was in Casablanca from where he left to Morocco, then to Dubai from where he caught a flight to Maldives. Currently, the footballer is in China, he is to have tested positive on 20 March. Two Maldivians were identified as close contacts of the footballer and their residences have been placed under monitoring.
