10th Covid-19 case confirmed in the Maldives

The new case is from Kuredu Island Resort

A tenth individual has tested for positive for Covid-19 in Maldives.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that the positive patient is from Kuredu Island Resort, where the first cases were confirmed, and out of the 10 tested from the resort after contact tracing.

While the remaining tested negative to the virus, the positive patient will be transferred to the isolation facility in Farukolhufushi.

This is the second positive case in the past 24 hours; authorities announced that a foreigner from Anatara Dhigu tested positive on Friday evening.

Following the positive case, 11 individuals are being monitored under isolation following contact tracing.

All 10 confirmed cases in the country were discovered from resorts; five in Kuredu Island Resort, two in Sandies Bathala and Kuramathi Island Resort each, and one in Anantara Dhigu.
