Moosa Nashid has been re-elected as the president of the Badminton Association of Maldives.
He won the election held on Monday, with 194 out of 221 eligible taking part in the vote. All 194 voted in favour of Moosa’s re-election.
In addition, Shakir Moosa was re-elected as vice president with 192 votes while Mohamed Rishan was elected Treasurer with the same number of votes.
Hussain Athif and Murushidha Ali were elected to the executive committee with 193 votes each.
Following re-election, Moosa said that his aim to expand the sport across the country and described his second term in post as an opportunity to take it “to the next level”.
Furthermore, the badminton association president said that he will give the highest priority to garner opportunities for players in the international arena.
Moosa Nashid is also the general secretary of Badminton Asia. He also serves as the Chairman of Badminton Development Committee of Asia and has been a council member of the World Badminton Federation since 2017.
