The Ministry of Finance has revealed that the state received MVR 1.6 billion in income during the month of January.
According to the ministry’s statistics, the state acquired an income of MVR 1.6 billion by the end of January out of which MVR 1.4 billion was acquired through taxes and MVR 180 million was earned as non-tax earning.
During the past month, the state received MVR 725 million from Goods and Services Tax, MVR 541 million through Business Profit Taxes (BPT) and MVR 81 million through Green Tax.
Further, the state also received MVR 65 million through Airport Service Charge during the past month, shows statistics.
Statistics go on to reveal that state received the biggest income through non-tax income recorded at MVR 180 million, through several fees and charges which reaches around MVR 98 million.
Property income has been recorded at MVR 54 million through rental charges, MVR 10 million through registration and license fees as well as MVR 4.3 million through other means of income.
Accordingly, the state’s expenditure is recorded at MVR 1.4 billion during the first month of 2020. As such, the state income was increased by MVR 113 million compared to its expenditure throughout January.
