Chinese tourist, 67, drowns off Maldives resort

A 67-year-old man died while out swimming on Saturday evening

The incident was reported on Saturday evening

A Chinese tourist has drowned off Dreamland Resort in Baa atoll.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the incident was reported to them on Saturday afternoon, when a 67-year-old Chinese tourist died while out swimming in the four-star resort.

He was rushed to the Health Center in Dharavandhoo island of the same atoll a little past 3pm on Saturday, revealed authorities.

Police cited doctors having said that the 67-year-old was pronounced dead on arrival at the center.

The incident is currently under investigations, said police.
