The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has recommended against the appointment of Abdul Rauf Ibrahim to the Supreme Court bench.
Judge of the High Court, Abdul Rauf Ibrahim was nominated for the vacancy on the Supreme Court bench by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, alongside the nominations of Ahmed Muthasim Adnan and Husnu Suood.
As such, Muthasim and Suood have since been approved by the JSC and appointed as the chief justice and an associate justice of the Supreme Court, respectively. However, the commission delayed their decision on the appointment of Rauf due to ongoing disciplinary investigations against him.
