Stranded party of four rescued at sea after their boat sank

The incident occurred near Ithaafushi island in Kaafu atoll

A group of men stranded at sea after their boat sank have been rescued on Wednesday.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) revealed that they received a report of the boat having sunk off Ithaafushi island in Kaafu atoll close to 10:30am on Wednesday.

While four individuals were on board at the time it sank, authorities further revealed that a diving boat travelling close by rescued the men upon spotting them stranded.

MNDF went on to reveal that all four are in stable condition.

This comes at a time sea incidents have been on the rise of late.
