Gais Naseer, native to Hithadhoo district of southernmost Addu City, has been appointed the Managing Director of Addu International Airport.
The appointment comes over an year since the position was vacated.
The post was earlier held by President of the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM), Mohamed Latheef.
He was appointed to the post during April 2018, however, the Privatization and Corporatization Board of the Maldives had dismissed his during November the same year, during a wave of dismissals of board members from several government institutions.
Addu International Airport operates Gan International Airport (GIA), which was opened for services during December 2016.
