President of opposition People’s National Congress (PNC) has been summoned to the Maldives Police Service (MPS).
Abdul Raheem Abdulla was served the summon notice on Friday, and is to present himself at the police headquarters at 8pm on Saturday.
RaajjeMV understands that he is to be questioned over a threat directed at the Criminal Court judges, following opposition leader and former President Abdulla Yameen’s conviction on money laundering.
According to sources, a complaint against the former MP was filed by the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA).
Speaking to opposition supporters after Yameen’s sentencing, Abdul Raheem had threatened to “jail” the five judges that gave out the ruling in the trial.
