Maldives Food Festival has been scheduled to kick off by the end of November.
An initiative of Mystique Events, the festival will be held from 25-30 November at the Carnival Area in Henveiru-ward of capital city Malé.
The event will focus on promoting and featuring food items and products by local restaurants, cafés and bakeries which will be offered through 100 stalls out of which 10 will provide food sampling.
Further, the event also introduces a bold challenge for risk-takers; the “Spicy Ramen Challenge” where competitors will win MVR 1,000 for getting through the challenge. While the challenge will be held every day for the duration of the festival, competitors are required to purchase tickets to participate. It will be finished off with a “Championship Challenge” on the last day where the winner will receive a prize of MVR 5,000.
Mystique went on to reveal that teams of five will receive one ticket for free and that every 1,000th competitor will win a cash prize of MVR 1,000.
The restaurant, café or bakery with the highest sales by the end of the festival will be conferred a prize of MVR 10,000.
In addition, Mystique is set to provide five stalls for free, to the public or local NGOs.
