Deadline is 10:00 am of October 24th, Thursday

A contest to design a national memorial in the memory of the Maldivians who sacrificed their lives for their nation, has been announced.

The contest, open to the public, will pick a winning design to be displayed at the Republic Square (Jumhooree Maidhaan) under the name “Shaheedhunge Binaa” (Martyrs Memorial).

In order to enter the contest, participants must be a Maldivian national, have no criminal records, and if they win, must agree to commit their time to develop the memorial with the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF).

They must also present their design on an A1 sized foam-board as well as in PDF format. Furthermore, drawings and details of the memorial design must have a maximum of ten A3 size pages bind together. Participants also have to present the design in Microsoft Word format in a CD.

The competition deadline is 10:00 am, on 24th October 2019.

The ownership of the winning design will belong to the Maldives National Defense Force.
