India Expo 2019, a fair aimed at developing small to medium-sized businesses, will be held on October 12, says the organizers SME Entrepreneurs Federation of Maldives (SEFM).
The secretary-general of SEFM Abdul Sattar Mohamed told RaajjeMV that their organization has met with embassies from several countries in order to provide better opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses, since its inception. He noted that the India Expo 2019 is the result of such talks with various Indian organizations and Indian officials based in the Maldives.

Sattar further went on to say that there are many difficulties facing small and medium-sized businesses, so SEFM aims to hold the event annually to address these issues.
He highlighted that the objective of this event is to provide opportunities for small and medium-sized Maldivian business to network with Indian businesses. He further mentioned that SEFM is looking into arranging a method for local business owners to make contact with Indian investors outside of the expo.
According to SEFM, the event is sponsoring a total of ten partners which include OneOnline and RaajjeTV as media partners, State Bank of India, Corporate Maldives, Maldives Insider, Shady Cabin Rentals, Maldives Business Review, and Absolute Security and Advance Protection.
The expo will be held from the 15-17 October.
