Serbia is known globally to have excelled in the sports sector

One of the most celebrated volleyball coaches and trainers in Serbian history, Milorad Kijac has been appointed as the coach of the men’s national volleyball team.

Serbian coach and trainer Kijac had an extensive career playing as a setter for Yugoslavian clubs before moving into coaching.

His beginning was met with immense success, having won the Yugoslavian team national titles eight consecutive times under his coaching, the team also took home the Cup Winners titles for five years under his coaching.

Kihac also coached teams from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iran and Romania and won the “Best Coach” title from the “Sports Journal” in 1995.

Another Serbian national was also appointed as the trainer of the team, Radovan Kijac.

The national volleyball team had camped in Serbia with the assistance from Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof.

Serbia is known to excel in the sports sector across the world, with excellent players in volleyball, football, basketball and tennis. While work is underway to strengthen sports bonds between both countries, Serbia is observably extending generous support and aid to enhance the sports sector in Maldives.
