57 expatriates unrelated to Friday’s fire have registered for assistance, revealed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
NDMA’s Chief Executive Hisaan Hassan revealed that while the authority has been providing assistance for locals and expatriates affected in the fire, their evaluation shows that 57 out of those registered as fire victims are completely unrelated to the incident.
Although the authority had been accommodating them at a location of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, they have now been handed over to the Immigration Department, revealed Hisaan.

A total of 247 individuals have been provided temporary shelter.
