Former presidents send Eid greetings
Both had sent a short message using their official Twitter accounts

Former Presidents Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and Mohamed Nasheed have sent Eid greetings.
Both had sent a short message using their official Twitter accounts.
As such, Maumoon sent “sincere greetings and best wishes to Muslims all over the world on the advent of this blessed Adha Eid,” while his successor in 2008, Nasheed sent a greeting from him and his wife.
Gayoom and Nasheed were initially opponents in the political arena, but joined forces in 2017 to defeat then President (and Maumoon’s half-brother) in the 2018 presidential elections.
They are two of the four opposition leaders that allied together and united behind candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who emerged victorious with 134.705 votes to Yameen’s 96,052.
