UEFA Assist U-15 International Tournament: Maldives loses all matches
Maldives team conceded 15 goals
Maldives team scored only one goal throughout the entire tournament
Maldives team has lost all of the matches it played in the Under 15 category of the ongoing UEFA Assist Under -15 International Tournament.
During the last match Maldives team competed in on Saturday, the team lost to Latvia seven to nil.
Latvia scored three goals during the first half of the match, having secured the win with four more in the second half.
Two players from the team had scored hat-tricks in the game.
While Maldives lost all matches of the game, it conceded 15 goals throughout the tournament.
The only goal the team scored in the tournament was against Bhutan.
Latvia and Bhutan are to play in the finals.
The tournament is being held in Addu Football Stadium and is being carried out in line with the government’s vision to broaden the scope of sports development in Maldives.
It is organized by the Maldives Football Association in collaboration with UEFA and is the first collaboration between Maldives and a European organization.
Alongside Maldives, Latvia and Bhutan, Saudi Arabia also joined the tournament.
Some of the players from the Maldives team were kicked off the squad last week, followin a disciplinary issue.
