Four-year-old drowns in Maafushi island

A four-year-old has drowned in Maafushi island of Kaafu atoll.

Confirming the incident, police said that that the child was holidaying in Maafushi with family.

Noting that officers were immediately dispatched to the scene, police said that the four-year-old had already been transferred to the Maafushi Health Center by then.

Police added that the child was unconscious when taken to the center.

Police continues to investigate the incident.
