Maduvvari island’s harbor and school requires development

The government will take the required measures to address the issues facing the residents of Maduvvari island, Raa atoll after thorough discussions with relevant ministries, says President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Solih gave his assurance that issues highlighted by island councilors of Maduvvari during a meeting at the President’s Office on Tuesday.

During the meeting, councilors discussed priorities as well as some concerns raised by the community. They further shared various development projects proposed for the island community.

Shedding light on the urgent requirements of the island residents, councilors highlighted that the island’s harbor and school requires development.

The island also requires an ice plant, a new building for its health center as well as the development of a social center.

Councilors went on to share the challenges faced by island residents due to lack of land on the island.
