Tourist arrivals up 10.9% in May

The Tourism Ministry’s statistics show that May saw an increase of 10.9% in tourist arrivals compared to the same month last year.
While 103,022 tourists traveled to the Maldives in May, the largest number was recorded from China.
A total of 749,114 tourists have traveled to the country thus far this year, which is an 18.4% increase from the same period last year.
The minister also said that compared to 2018, the number of tourist arrivals in Maldives from India increased and that India comes third on the list.
Tourists from China, Italy, India and America also visited to Maldives in great numbers.
