The table tennis hall in capital city Malé has on Monday been opened after renovation.

The hall was opened by acting youth minister Ali Waheed and Chinese ambassador to the Maldives Zhang Lizhong.

Minister Waheed had conferred the hall to the Table Tennis Association of Maldives on behalf of the government.

Senior staff at the ministry, table tennis players, and the national team had also attended the opening.

The hall has had immense interior renovation with new utilities, such as air conditioning, being installed.

After the opening, Minister Waheed and Ambassador Lizhong had played a match against each other.

The hall was renovated with the assistance of the China Machinery Engineering Corporation.
