An aircraft of national airline Maldivian has experienced a landing delay of almost an hour following a mechanical malfunction in its landing gear.
The Maldivian Dash-8 flight was en route to Gan International Airport from Velana International Airport and had to stay in the air for almost an hour after taking off from Kadhdhoo to Gan.
Flight Q2-118 was scheduled to land at 12:30 pm, however, due to the malfunction in the landing gear, the flight made an emergency landing an hour later.
Maldivian stated that the flight roamed for a while before the pilot was finally able to land the plane successfully after the crew carried out safety procedure, adding that the landing had a 50 percent survival chance.
RaajjeMV understands that Gan International Airport was brought under alert and that the exact cause of the malfunction is yet unclear.
