Criminal Court is to handover case documents to former Legal Affairs Minister at the President’s Office, Azima Shakoor, on Thursday.
PG Office on Sunday charged Azima with aiding in money laundering, and providing a false statement to authorities.
While a hearing is set for 9:30am on Sunday, Criminal Procedure Act states that case documents must be handed over to a defendant within five days after being officially charged.
Police questioned Azima in December 2018.
Former President Abdulla Yameen has been charged with money laundering as well, over illegal financial transactions made during his presidency. At a hearing held on Monday, Criminal Court ordered to keep him in remand until the trial concludes.
