Vice President Ahmed Adeeb has been taken him back to prison after corrections officers arrived at his house at 9:30pm on Wednesday.
Adeeb's close associates at the scene voiced their concern regarding the matter, saying that his medical treatment is still ongoing and that the authorities are going against their word.

Adeeb was transferred to house arrest upon the doctor’s recommendation after he underwent surgery to dissolve kidney stones.
Earlier at a press conference on Wednesday, home minister Imran Abdulla said Adeeb will be kept under house arrest until his medical treatment is completed, and that afterwards he will be transferred back to prison to complete the rest of his sentence.
