Main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has decided to hold some of its internal elections on Friday.
After postponing their internal elections due to some “important” reasons, MDP announced this decision on Thursday. As such, the party will be electing members from each province and city to the youth wing as well as their women’s wing.
Only registered members may cast their votes at these elections. As such, registration procedures will be carried out at the polling centers.
RaajjeMV understands that voting will proceed from 2pm to 6pm.
“The ballot box for Male’ will be stationed at our campaign site. Other ballot boxes will also be stationed across outlying atolls. If not in campaign sites, the party members active in the voting process will decide where to station ballot boxes” said a source from MDP’s elections committee.
The source stated that the electoral procedure is expected to proceed energetically.
While MDP’s internal elections have been scheduled for Friday, the party is to hold it’s primaries for the 2019 parliamentary elections in January.
