The government names the largest school in Maldives as “Huravee School”.
The recently built school is in capital city Male’s suburban extension Hulhumale’.
State Minister at the Ministry of Education, Ahmed Shafeeu stated that the name was approved by the President’s Office for the school in neighborhood 1 of Hulhumale.
Shafeeu revealed that they are currently taking student applications for the enrollment process.
Huravee School's construction was contracted to Amin Construction for MVR 132 million. The school is set to open in 2019 with the commencement of the academic new year on the 13th of January.
The school will be teaching from grades one to nine and as well as grade 11. The ministry further revealed that they will begin teaching for grades 10 and 12 in 2020.
Huravee School is a seven-story building with three blocks and 53 classrooms close to Little Gems Pre-school and will accommodate up to 1,700 students. RaajjeMV understands that two out of the 53 class rooms will be specialized for students with special needs.
