Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has begun investigating a batch from State Trading Organization (STO)’s wheat flour brand due to a strong and unusual odor and taste.
The authority revealed this via Twitter on Tuesday evening.
According to MFDA, the issue arose only from batch number 17016853 and that the odor and taste does not affect other batches of STO’s wheat flour.
MFDA is investigating STO Wheat Flour brand, batch number 17016853 due to a strong unusual odour and taste. This does not affect other batches of STO Wheat Flour. It is advisable to check flour before purchase and sale. Precautionary measures shall be taken during storage.

MFDA appealed on all to check their flour before they make the purchase and sale, going on to state that precautionary measures shall be taken during storage.
RaajjeMV was unable to get a comment from STO regarding the matter at the time of publishing, as they had failed to answer the station’s calls.
