President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s spokesperson Mariya Ahmed Didi has said that Minister of Home Affairs, Azleen Ahmed had confirmed that no result-changing issues had surfaced in the presidential election.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Mariya also said that the defense and security committee assembled by the president-elect met with the home minister to ensure that all the procedures on election day are carried out smoothly and peacefully.

“Minister Azleen had ensured that the procedures on the election day will be carried out accordingly to Solih’s wishes” said Mariya.

The spokesperson also said that the home ministry had even investigated the complaints submitted to the Elections Commission regarding election day, and that the home minister had confirmed there are no result-changing complaints among those filed.

Moreover, Mariya revealed that the economic committee assembled by Solih had met with Auditor General Hassan Ziyath, who had assured that adequate, technical aid will be provided regarding the audits.

She highlighted that foreign relations procedures were also being carried out by the foreign committee.

She added that different committees assembled by the President-elect are working tirelessly and that Director General of Transition, Ahmed Latheef is also carrying out his work in civil service. As such, his office has been established at the STELCO building with preparations ongoing to hire workers for him.
