MET Office issues yellow alert for nine atolls

MET Office said that winds are expected gust at between 45 to 50 miles per hour
The Maldives Meterological Services (MET Office) has issued a yellow alert for nine atolls in the Maldives, and warned of heavy showers and rough seas.
MET Office released their yellow alert for seven atolls between Baa atoll and Meemu atoll as well Gaafu Alif and Gaafu Dhaal atolls, known collectively as Huvadhoo atoll.
The service said that winds are expected to gust at between 45 to 50 miles per hour and seas are expected to be rough.
The MET Office also expects some areas to experience sea swells during high tide.
