While MDA is a coalition partner of President Yameen’s PPM, it had decided not to endorse any candidate prior to the election

Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) has expressed its hope that president-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration will be fair and unbiased.

After a landslide win against President Abdulla Yameen in the 2018 election, the ruling party’s former coalition partner in a press release expressed hope that Solih, the candidate of the opposition coalition, will establish justice and equality in Maldives.

MDA stated that it has always wanted a bright future for Maldivians and that the party will remain vocal in speaking for the people.

The party also expressed appreciation for President Yameen accepting defeat and promising a smooth transition of power.

While MDA wad a coalition partner of President Yameen’s Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), it had decided not to endorse any candidate prior to the election.
