Jumhooree Party leader’s wife, Aishath Nahula’s home in her native island was doused with used engine oil on Saturday night.

According to sources, engine oil was dumped on the house named “Hethi” in Hoarafushi island of Haa Alif atoll at around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.

A family member, who was at the house at the time of the attack, told RaajjeMV that the house had been deserted for some time now.

While the family is to have first gone to the house at 2pm on Saturday, they said that the attack took place shortly after arriving home from a show held in the island that night.

“I heard someone saying that the house had been doused in engine oil while I was inside. When I went and checked, there was oil on the walls and main door, it had not sprayed inside,” said the relative.

According to the relative, the Maldives Police Service had been informed of the matter and officers had come to the house to inspect it.

While self-exiled Qasim is currently residing in Germany after fleeing his prison conviction, his youngest wife Nahula is seen actively participating in the joint opposition’s campaign activities for the upcoming presidential elections.
