Supporting incumbent President Abdulla Yameen for causing the Coral Boulevard project is like wanting to marry an actress after seeing her in a movie, says MP Ali Nizar.

Nizar expressed his sentiments over the matter in a post on his Twitter account, where he described the apartments built there to be unattainable for the average Maldivian.

MP Nizar’s post translates to, ‘being impressed and wanting to support President Yameen for building these flats is like wanting to marry Priyanka after seeing her in a movie, a flat here costs 4 million rufiyaa’. Nizar is likely referring to Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra.

Apartments at Coral Boulevard, which is a complex of five 28-storey towers, are now on the market for purchase, with prices that begin at and range over MVR 4 million. RaajjeMV understands that a number of apartments have already been leased on long-term agreements to foreign parties.

The towers are for residential use while one of them is to be developed into a 228-room luxury hotel with a shopping mall. The residential towers also hold luxury apartments. The towers also come with a swimming pool and a day-care area.
